Family walking on the Presidio's Bay Area Ridge Trail Trails Forever logo: The brush rabbit Trail Volunteers, Golden Gate National Parks

The vast trails of the Golden Gate National Parks form an extensive network, connecting millions of people to natural landscapes and deepening public awareness of their grandeur and fragility. The Trails Forever initiative, launched in 2003, is renovating and expanding park trails to build a world class trail system and protect park resources north and south of the Golden Gate.

By dramatically improving the way people experience and explore these wondrous places, Trails Forever is making the Golden Gate National Parks healthier and more welcoming, while inspiring a deeper appreciation for nature and our sense of duty as stewards. The Trails Forever initiative is sponsored by the Parks Conservancy, National Park Service, and Presidio Trust.
